Vista Higher Learning will fully discontinue support of Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On, or SSO) in 2024. This impacts Canvas and Desire-2-Learn institutions using Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 with vhlcentral. Vista Higher Learning will be your partner during this transition and provide assistance to educators and administrators. As of December 31, 2024, Vista Higher Learning will discontinue support for LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On) Partner Cloud integrations.

You will be given the option of continuing to access the online resources for your Vista Higher Learning program through LTI Advantage - the current version of LTI. You’ll have access to all the great content you and your students use every day with Single Sign On (SSO), Grade Sync, and Deep Linking.

• Why is there a need to transition? Answer: The IMS, who publishes the LTI specs, has deprecated support for LTI 1.1 / 1.2
• Do I need to transition? Answer: Yes, if you have an active course using LTI 1.1 for single-sign-on between Canvas or Desire-2-Learn and a vhlcentral course.
• What is the timeline for this transition? Answer: As of December 31, 2024 Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On, or SSO) is no longer supported.
• Until when can my school use Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On, or SSO)? Answer: We advise using it only through the summer of 2024, but you may continue to use Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On, or SSO) until December 31, 2024.
  Can I use Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On, or SSO) for fall courses? Answer: Yes, with limitations; courses must end by December 31, 2024.
• What happens to my closed courses that used Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On, or SSO)? Answer: Courses will remain in closed course history in vhlcentral.com programs; single-sign-on (SSO) links will no longer be operational.
• I am an LMS Admin, what do I need to do now? Answer: Provide VHL with the names of instructors using Partner Cloud LTI 1.1 (Single Sign On, or SSO) by responding to the email you received to onboard a LTI-A 1.3 instance or email our team with this information.
• If an instructor is team teaching a course can they use LTI-Advantage? Answer: Yes!
• If an instructor has an existing LMS course template, do they have to create a new course template? Answer: No, as long as the external tool links in the LMS course template are updated to the LTI-A 1.3 instance.
